Currently owned by Laura Duet (who kindly gave her blessing for me to reproduce her), it does not tell us who stitched it or when she worked her sampler. It only shows us two alphabets and a series of scattered sampler motifs on a long, rectangular piece of linen. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"layoutArea\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"column\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThere is such a naïve simplicity to this gathering of motifs and alphabets that it fills my heart with joy when I see it. It was probably never intended to be a finished picture but instead was meant to be folded or rolled up and kept in a sewing basket, only to be brought out when motifs or letters were needed on other textile items. The original was worked on very uneven linen, and elements were randomly scattered.
