The upper is crafted from durable Hiroshima denim, while the footbed features genuine Japanese-grown Igusa—the natural rush traditionally used to make tatami flooring. Unlike ordinary tatami, we use only the finest upper portion of each Igusa stem. This premium section creates a smoother texture, a finer weave, and a more comfortable feel underfoot. Each pair is handmade in small batches in Japan, allowing us to focus on quality rather than mass production.
